According to the statistics of Thailand customs, from January to July 2019, the import and export of goods in Thailand were us $286.02 billion, down 0.9% compared with the same period of the previous year (the same below). Of this, exports were $143.98 billion, down 1%; Imports dropped 0.8 percent to $142.04 billion. The trade surplus was $1.94 billion, down 10.9 percent.
In July, Thailand imported and exported $42.7 billion worth of goods, up 6%. Of this total, exports totaled us $21.25 billion, up 7.3%; Imports totaled us $21.45 billion, up 4.7 percent. The trade deficit was $200 million, down 70.5%.
In the january-july period, the import and export of bilateral goods between Thailand and China dropped by 1.4% to us $45.31 billion. Thailand’s exports to China totaled us $16.29 billion, down 6.8% and accounting for 11.3% of Thailand’s total exports. Thailand’s imports from China totaled 29.02 billion us dollars, up 1.8 percent, accounting for 20.4 percent of the total. The trade deficit of Thailand was us $12.73 billion, up 15.5%.
As of July, China is Thailand’s second largest export market, the largest source of imports and the largest trading partner.
